At the 40-foot level on the tower, Dan K6NKC displays the Bird wattmeter. Notice that there is no coax connected to either port of the meter, and the slug is in the shorted position. Now click on the picture to see a larger version, and look at the meter reading. It's showing about 13 watts of power, just from stray RF!
